Christmas
Card Boxes
The Only a Wee Bit Tricky Folded Box

It
is far easier to make these boxes than it is to describe how to do so! Don't be
put off by the long instructions, once you have made one you can make more very
quickly and easily.
You will need:
Christmas cards (square ones are best
but you can cut to size)
Pen or pencil
Ruler
Scissors
Make a square
from your card (unless it already is a square)
Drawn a line across the diagonals
On
each of the four edges mark the half waypoint. In between the edge and the halfway
point are the quarter and three-quarter points - mark these as well on each side.

Now
you need to join up the halfway point on one side with the halfway point to its
neighbour side. Do this for each side. Join quarter point to quarter point and
three-quarter point to three quarter point.
Your card will now be hatched
with diagonal lines.
Cut out the four triangles shown shaded in the photograph.
There are now two narrow points at opposite ends. Make four cuts shown (either
side of base of narrow point, towards centre, one square in length).

Fold
wide points as shown to make a square (the point should touch the centre)
Fold
the triangle of one of the 'cut' sides in so it points to the middle and its sides
wrap round like a chair. Repeat on the opposite side
Fold and tuck in the
two narrow sides to form your box.
You can make a lid for you box using
a slightly larger square.
Very quick and easy gift box
- using fixes not folds!
Take a square
Mark the centre (you can do
this by crossing the diagonals)
Fold each edge inwards to it to meet the
centre line.
Unfold
Make four cuts as shown
Fold your box and
use tape or glue to fix the flaps into place
